Born in Costa Rica, Michael Arias is a Full Professor and Researcher at the Universidad de Costa Rica. Doctor in Engineering Sciences (Computer Science area) for Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC), under the supervision of Dr. Marcos Sepúlveda and Dr. Jorge Munoz-Gama. Bachelor degree and Master on Computer Science, both from the Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR). At present, professor Arias is currently enrolled in the Human & Process Research Lab (HAPLAB) at the Department of Computer Science (DCC) at PUC. Research fields of interest include process mining, business process management, project management, resource allocation, process oriented data science, Health Informatics among others. At a personal level, Michael enjoys sports related activities, specially soccer.
